In recent years, the track and field and softball programs at Ithaca College have developed partnerships with Cornell University athletics. During the 2023–2024 academic year, both the track and field team and the softball team competed against Cornell.

Ithaca College and Cornell University are not only united by location but also through sports. Over the decades, the track and field and softball programs of both Ithaca and Cornell have formed interdependent relationships that benefit both schools through facility usage and inter-division competition.

The two games played at Kostrinsky Field on April 23 could not have been any more different. However, both ended with the same result as the Ithaca College softball team earned two one-run victories against the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons by scores of 1–0 and 9–8, with the latter contest going to nine innings.

Bombers finish off Yellowjackets behind sound pitching

The Ithaca College baseball team hosted its Liberty League rival, the University of Rochester Yellowjackets at Valesente Diamond at Freeman Field on a chilly afternoon, April 21. After splitting a double header in Rochester on April 20, the Bombers came out victorious in a 5–1 contest to secure a series victory.

There was celebration in Higgins Stadium as the Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team took  down the Bard College Raptors 19–1 to secure the Liberty League regular season championship on a sweet Senior Day April 20. This marks a crucial step in the Bombers’ chase for a Liberty League title.

The Ithaca College lacrosse team was able to do something the football team could not this academic year – defeat the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. The Bombers were able to leave Higgins Stadium victorious, 12–11, clinging to victory as the two teams battled down to the wire. 
Following the resignation of longtime head strength and conditioning coach, Vic Brown, Ben Fleet 22 has assumed the role of interim head strength and conditioning coach. Fleet has primarily relied on support from a team of graduate assistants.

In February, Ithaca College announced that longtime head coach of strength and conditioning, Vic Brown, announced his resignation from the department. To fill the void, a young group of strength and conditioning coaches and graduate assistants have fought to maintain stability through continuing change.
During the 2024 season, the Ithaca College baseball team has dealt with persistent weather delays. The South Hill Squad has played only three games on Freeman Field thus far, compared to the 10 originally scheduled.

With upstate New York weather being as unpredictable as it is, the Ithaca College baseball team has had to make numerous adjustments this season to accommodate a weather-intolerant field. Freeman Field is a natural dirt and grass field, not a synthetic surface, which means it cannot be plowed or played on while wet.
