April to focus on Asian-American culture at Ithaca College

Throughout the month of April, the Asian American Alliance will be hosting a series of events as part of Focus Asia Month, which will focus on embracing Asian-American culture and identity.

Newly tenured IC professors do not include POC at IC’s picks

The list of professors at Ithaca College who were awarded tenure for 2015–16 was announced Feb. 21. However, missing from the list were the names of the professors that POC at IC demanded be given immediate tenure.
A rape in the third degree reportedly occurred between 1:15 a.m. and 4 a.m. Jan. 22 near Boothroyd Hall at Ithaca College.

Ithaca College to begin diversity and inclusion initiatives

Ithaca College President Tom Rochon announced the creation of a chief diversity officer position to provide leadership over “ongoing work to improve our campus' racial climate.”
The student group POC at IC and its allies stand on stage and voice their lack of confidence in President Tom Rochon at the “Addressing  Community Action on Racism and Cultural Bias” event Oct. 27. After the demonstration, they walked out of the event amid “no confidence” chants.
