Students hold event to discuss ways to address racism at IC

The Ithaca College SGC and the Students of Color Coalition (SOCC) hosted the Stand for Justice webinar Oct. 6 to discuss ways to address racism at the college.
The 2020 Ithaca College Voting Act recommends that students will be excused from classes to vote on Election Day. The Excused Absence for Poll Workers Recommendation asks the college to give students who are working at polls an excused absence.

SGC passes bills to encourage student voting in the election

The Ithaca College SGC passed two bills at its Oct. 5 meeting that encourage student voting in the upcoming presidential election. 
The new online platform officially opened in August and allows students to access the online bookstore through HomerConnect or the campus store’s website.

IC uses a virtual textbook service in lieu of an on-campus store

The Ithaca College Campus Store has stopped selling textbooks on campus and is utilizing a virtual textbook service.

SGC publications bill impacts magazines differently

A bill passed in Fall 2019 by the SGC that limits the number of copies on-campus publications can print impacted student publications differently. 
Junior Elijah Nishiura, vice president of campus affairs, asked sophomore Ryan Ingerson what questions he would ask Bill Guerrero, vice president for finance and administration, who the SGC plans on bringing in this semester. Ingerson said he would ask about the strategic plan, Ithaca Forever, and how it relates to the college’s plans to diversify where it receives funding.
