Women’s soccer drops first game of the season to SUNY Cortland

The Ithaca College women’s soccer team suffered its first defeat of the season Wednesday, Sept. 14, when they fell to the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons 2–0 at Carp Wood Field.
Freshman Alexia Michitti, who plays for the Ithaca College womens soccer team, was born without her right hand. She has played soccer since the age of three, but was only introduced to adaptive sports in 2021.

When Alexia Michitti, who was born with no right hand, was cut from a middle school basketball team, it was the first time she was told she could not do something because of her upper limb difference.

IC alumna donates over $600,000 to women’s sports

All Ithaca College women’s athletics programs are now endowed, after an anonymous alum donated over $600,000 to 10 women’s teams.
The Ithaca College field hockey team is one of the six squads representing the Bombers in the Liberty League postseason. The team clinched the No. 1 seed in the tournament after its win Oct. 22.
