Men’s Tennis: Bombers shut out Alfred University in E-8 opener

The men’s tennis team was never able to get on track against the University of Rochester today, losing an 8-1 dual match to the YellowJackets. The loss puts the Bombers at 1—4 in dual matches this season.

The men’s tennis team won their 11th straight match and remained unbeaten in conference play with a 9–0 win against St. John Fisher College Tuesday afternoon. The Bombers, currently ranked 16th in the region, surrendered 11 games as a team in the match.

The men’s tennis team pulled off an inspiring victory Saturday by defeating conference foe Stevens Institute of Technology 5–4. The match, held indoors at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University, came down to the final pairing where senior Danny Wolk narrowly won in three sets.

After a two-week layoff from match play, the men’s tennis team easily defeated host Utica College 9–0 to open conference play Friday. The Pioneers never won more than three games in any of the sets played during the match.
