Leniency shouldn’t have dissipated with the return to in-person classes. If anything, this is the time for extensions and sympathy.
The session included about 15 students, seven SLT members and seven members of the SGC divided among six tables to have small group discussions on what has gone well since returning to campus and what has not been effective. A similar event was held in January 2021 over zoom and attracted around 80 participants.

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council (SGC) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) held a listening session Nov. 16 in the Emerson Suites.
La Jerne Cornish, interim president of Ithaca College, said she wanted to focus on three words for the 2021–22 academic year: intentionality, connection and care. She also said she wanted to hear what members of the SGC had to say and what they wanted to discuss.
