Cornell changes COVID-19 alert level to low to moderate risk

Cornell University has changed its COVID-19 alert level from green to yellow.
La Jerne Cornish, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, and Rosanna Ferro, vice president for student affairs and campus life, provided context for the college’s reopening and updates from the Return to Campus Task Force in an email sent to the college community June 8.

IC adds new subgroup to Return to Campus Task Force

Ithaca College is prohibiting students from several states from returning to Ithaca to move out their belongings in accordance with a new state mandate.

Ithaca College announced a potential plan for students to move their belongings out of their residences, but the date has not yet been determined.

All schools in the Ithaca area have been cancelled until April because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Health department confirms first case of COVID-19 in Tompkins County

The New York State Department of Health confirmed a positive case of COVID-19 in Tompkins County, according to a statement from the Tompkins County Health Department on March 14. 
Ted Schiele, planner and evaluator for the Tompkins County Health Department, said he has been working with students and faculty at the college since 2015 to implement a ban on tobacco products, like cigarettes, hookahs and vape pens, across the entire campus.
