And according to the U.S. Drought Monitor, Tompkins County is experiencing “severe drought” conditions. While the college is not affected as heavily by the drought other places in the community, it released an announcement addressing campus conservation efforts.

Ithaca College Dining Services has shown improvement, while many local Ithaca restaurants have committed critical violations with the Tompkins County Health Department.
In preparation for the upcoming influenza season, the Hammond Health Center at Ithaca College is putting together a campaign to get as many students vaccinated as possible, Dr. Vivian Lorenzo, director of medical services at the college’s Health Center, said.
