Ithaca College announced the members of its search committee for vice president for Finance and Administration Jan. 4.
IC hired a new executive director for government and community relations on Dec. 20, three months after announcing the creation of the position.
“After he kept talking over me, I didn’t keep trying, because I knew it was going to happen again,’” Friebis said.
The college joined this program as a result of President Shirley M. Collado’s personal connection to the program.
The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and excitement in contrast to the typically more reserved ceremony in the past.
Jewish Holocaust survivor Samuel Rind spoke to approximately 50 students, faculty and community member on Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Patricia Rodriguez said she decided to organize the event because of what is at stake under the Trump administration.
Many international students said the lack of diversity in the town of Ithaca and the lack of financial aid are the main reasons for international students not returning.
The rally was prompted by the looming threats and attempts made by the Trump administration to defund Planned Parenthood, club members said.
“It’s not just the typical crunchy-granola Ithaca hippie that is sustainable,” she said. “It is approaching everyone on different levels, so let’s meet them where they are and keep going.”
This rowdiness, which had been occurring the past few months, led the college and the TCAT company to crack down through three new initiatives.
