SGC discusses college’s relationship with Ithaca community

The tabled amendment resolved that there would be an $8,000 maximum per academic year allocated per organization for speakers.
Rochon does not actually receive the funds — they are reported as retirement and other deferred compensation.
The officers found weapons, ammunition, equipment commonly used to assemble destructive devices, medical trauma supplies, food rations and fireworks.
During the meeting, the SGC senate voted in favor of separately voting on each individual amendment within the Allocations Handbook Reform bill.
Recycling makes up 20 percent of the college’s waste stream, not including composting, whereas the national household average is 35 percent.
The School of Humanities and Sciences has 1,931 students, which is 30 percent of the college’s population.
The college created a working group to examine freedom of speech regulations on campus during the Fall 2017 semester.
The SGC also elected freshman Elijah Nishiura as a new senator-at-large during the Feb. 19 meeting.
The SGC officially used the remainder of its allocation funds during the Feb. 7 allocation meeting, and will not have a renewed budget until next semester.
There are still nine vacant senate positions to fill.
The SGC’s new program will consist of the SGC providing snacks and nonperishable food items in its office for any students at the college.
