Weekend preview: Seven teams prepare for weekend competition

With the start of the new semester, the Ithaca College winter sports teams are looking to continue their success from the fall.

Both basketball teams are home Jan. 28 as they take on St. John Fisher College. The women, who are currently 13–3 and are undefeated at home so far this season, will tip off at 2 p.m. The men will hit the court at 4 p.m. and aim to improve their 6–10 record.

The women’s track team travels to Boston on Jan. 27 to compete in the Boston University Terrier Classic. This two-day meet will overlap with the Utica College Miga Invitational at 10 a.m. Jan. 28 in Utica, New York.

The men’s track team will also be hitting the road this weekend and competing in the Utica College Miga Invitational. The team is still seeking a firstplace finish this season.

The wrestling team will be competing all weekend. The team kicks off its road trip at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 in Hackettstown, New Jersey, to take on Centenary College. On Jan. 28, the Bombers travel to Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to compete against Delaware Valley University at 1 p.m. They end their weekend against Jamestown Community College starting at 9 a.m. Jan. 29 in Jamestown, New York.

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will compete against Union College at 2 p.m. Jan. 28 in Schenectady, New York. The women’s team is currently 14-0 and looks to keep its unbeaten streak alive.

The full weekend lineup:

  • Wrestling travels to take on Centenary College at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 in Hackettstown, New Jersey, and will continue to Delaware Valley University to compete at 1 p.m. Jan. 28 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, then against Jamestown Community College at 9 a.m. Jan. 29 in Jamestown, New York.
