The Ithaca College women’s basketball team head coach Dan Raymond announced March 25 that he will retire at the end of the 2025-26 academic year. Raymond has been at the helm of the team since 2000.

The Ithaca College women’s track and field team has asserted its dominance in several indoor events this season, with senior Rachel Larson continuing to make her mark on the hurdles. In the past year, the 2025 two-time First Team All-American has cut over a full second in the 200-meter and worked her 60-meter hurdles time down from 8.94 seconds at the Greg Page Relays and Multi Meet to 8.58 at the same competition this year. Larson has improved several of her other times, continuing to compete in many events, including the 100-meter hurdles and the 4x400-meter relay.Â
The Ithaca College football team hired offensive coordinator Brandon Maguire as the program's next head coach Feb. 3. Maguire will take over for his former boss, Michael Toerper, who left Dec. 14 to join Cornell University as their defensive coordinator.Â
The first season of Ithaca College women’s wrestling is in full swing and first-year wrestler Delaney Bisaillon has been the first star to emerge from the program. Her 18-2 record through Jan. 25 only reveals a part of her dominance this season.
For four years, Emma Waite tried her best to beat the Ithaca College women’s basketball team. Following her graduation from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2024, that changed when she decided to use her last year of eligibility to become one of the Bombers, being a key part of a 19-8 season. On top of being a student-athlete, Waite became a teaching assistant and is now a graduate assistant coach of the women’s basketball team.
The Ithaca College men’s basketball team hired its new head coach Mike McSloy on June 17, replacing Waleed Farid. McSloy is inheriting a program which just won its second-ever Liberty League Championship Tournament in February, their first being in February 2020.Â
Since his time on South Hill, Brian McCullough ’06, has entrenched himself in the intersection of sustainability and sports. Currently an associate professor and program chair of sport management at the University of Michigan, McCullough has worked with other experts in the field and organizations such as the International Olympic Committee.
The Ithaca College volleyball team added Mark Lucas to serve as assistant coach on June 16. Lucas brings decades worth of coaching experience to the Bombers, as they look to make another run in the NCAA...
On Feb. 6. 2025, Susan Bassett ’79, associate vice president and director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation at Ithaca College, announced her plans to retire at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.

During his time at Ithaca College, Joe Fitzgerald ’93 led his football team to its third and most recent national title in 1991 as quarterback. Since then, he was a member of the 1996 United States Olympic handball team and was inducted to the college’s Hall of Fame in 2017, all while serving the Catholic seminary since 2001.Â
During summer 2024, two-time Olympic champion Meghan Musnicki ’05 became the oldest American women rower in Olympic history by competing with the U.S. women's eight.
