Men’s lacrosse earns NCAA playoff berth amid conference semifinal loss

As the top regular-season team in the Liberty League Championship Tournament, the No. 17/18 Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team had high expectations heading into the playoffs. After receiving a bye, the Bombers were upset by the Union College Chargers 10-4 in the semifinal round May 1 at Higgins Stadium. 
On May 5 at Emerson Suites, Ithaca College will host its first annual Excellent Performance in Ithaca College Sports awards. The event is organized by the student-athlete advisory council (SAAC) and will celebrate achievements of student-athletes and coaches.

ESPY-inspired awards to celebrate student athletes

Ithaca College will host its inaugural Excellent Performance in Ithaca College Sports (EPICS) awards May 5. Organized by the student-athlete advisory council (SAAC), the night will be a celebration to recognize the efforts of student-athletes, coaches and others in the athletic department. 
First-year football and baseball player Anthony Mestre strokes a two run single in a 9-4 win over Hobart College on April 23. Mestre had offers to play at the Division I level but chose Ithaca College for the dual-sport opportunity.

The Ithaca College baseball team came into the season with a heavy influx of first-year players who have been put in key roles. Out of all those newcomers, dual-sport phenom Anthony Mestre has heard his name on the national stage the most. 
Senior Jack DeNick manages the Ithaca College Park Productions Drone Squadron. After graduation, DeNick will be interning at NBC News in Technical Production.

Ithaca College's Park Productions Drone Squadron has quietly built itself into one of the more ambitious student-run broadcast operations in the region. This spring, the squad is finally getting consistent gigs while producing six rowing broadcasts — two for Ithaca College, one for the Liberty League and three contracted broadcasts for Cornell University that will air on ESPN+ and the Ivy League Network.

Statement win secures number one seed for men’s lacrosse

The No. 20 Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team’s 14-9 win against the No. 19 Skidmore College Thoroughbreds on April 25 at Higgins Stadium officially locked the Bombers in as the top seed in the Liberty League playoffs. The senior day celebration game marked the end of the regular season, finishing off with a 11-5 overall record and a 5-1 conference record.

Softball sweeps Cortland in midweek doubleheader

The Ithaca College softball team rolled to pitching-led victories in both legs of the doubleheader April 21 versus the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. In game one, the Bombers grabbed an early 3-2 lead and held onto it for the rest of the contest. In game two, they survived a Red Dragons’ seventh inning rally to win 4-3.

Track and field teams celebrate inaugural home meet with season bests

With the sun in the sky and fans in the stands April 21, the Ithaca College men's and women's track teams hosted their first home meet in a decade on the newly built Egan Family Track and Field Complex. The Bombers welcomed Syracuse University, Cornell University, SUNY Cortland, SUNY Oswego, Keystone College and the Rochester Institute of Technology as they set some season highs both on the track and on throws.

Women’s lacrosse’s presence felt across the field for upset win

The Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team overcame a four-point deficit to upset the No. 24 St. John Fisher Cardinals 15-11 on April 17 at Higgins Stadium to conclude their regular season at home. Forcing turnovers and embracing the ride game was crucial for the Bombers, giving them the edge in the second quarter.
