President Peggy R. Williams announced today the college will begin searching for a new provost and vice president for academic affairs this spring.
In an announcement from Williams’ office released this afternoon, Williams said Jamie Ferrare of the firm Academic Search will be the college’s consultant and will travel to campus in early February to gather information and input for the search.
Williams also said she will organize a committee to represent the college community, and said she hopes to complete the search before the end of the spring semester so a finalist can be selected before fall 2007.
On Jan. 3, Williams announced the resignation of Peter Bardaglio, provost and vice president of academic affairs. He plans to spend spring semester on sabbatical and will not return to his position at the end of the academic year. Bardaglio has been the college’s provost since July 2002.
Williams will assume the duties of the provost until interim plans for the position are made.
