Severe weather shuts down campus

Because of the heavy snow warning in effect until 7 p.m. today, all classes have been canceled. The college is closed and only essential employees are required to come to work, according to the Intercom bulletin.

All three dining halls will be open as well as the fitness center, according to the Ithaca College Information Desk. The post office and BJ’s will be closed, and the food court in IC Square will have limited hours of operation.
According to the National Weather Service, the continued heavy snowfall could result in up to 30 inches of snow by tonight.

Ithaca Mayor Carolyn Peterson declared a snow emergency 5 p.m. yesterday that will remain in effect until further notice. Travel advisories have been issued for the city advising against non-essential travel today.
