Students reported their property being removed from Circle Apartments in three separate incidents this weekend, according to the Office of Public Safety. Two of the incidents involved unlawful entry, said Laura Durling, assistant director of patrol and security services.

The residents of an apartment in Circle Building 6 reported hearing noises of someone in the apartment around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, but believed it be another resident of the apartment. Durling said later that morning the residents observed a piece of furniture had been removed from the apartment and placed outside the door, according to a Public Safety Alert.

In another incident, residents of an apartment in Building 14 reported that at 10 a.m. Saturday, they discovered property scattered on the lawn that had been removed from their apartment. Durling said that property was also furniture.

Durling said no forced entry was observed in either of those incidents.

The final incident was reported at around 9:45 a.m. According to the alert, residents in Circle 18 discovered their sliding screen door had been ripped out of the frame and thrown into their backyard. No entry into the apartment was reported. Durling said she was not sure if the incidents were related.

Anyone with information is asked to call Public Safety at 274-3333. Residents are reminded to keep their residence hall and apartment doors locked for their own safety.
