Be resourceful

The multiple suicides at Cornell University in the past month highlight an ongoing problem on college campuses. It is important for Ithaca College students to be aware of available resources on campus to help prevent suicide.
When dealing with an individual at risk, campus members are encouraged to contact the college’s Counseling Center, where counselors are available all day to lend a thoughtful ear. Local agencies like the Suicide Prevention and Crisis Services of Tompkins County are also here to help. The agency’s suicide prevention hot line can be reached at 272-1616. In case of emergencies, individuals can also call the Office of Public Safety at  274-3333.
With the approaching stress of final exams, students are urged to remember that these resources are available to them when their daily schedules     become overwhelming.
