The Clinton Street Bridge is scheduled to reopen tomorrow after being closed to vehicles since July 14, assistant civil engineer Mathew Sledjecki said.
The City of Ithaca’s Water and Sewer Division closed the bridge to repair water and sewer lines on the 100 block of Clinton Street and the 100 block of Prospect Street.
Posted detours suggested students navigate around the bridge by following Cayuga Street to Green Street, taking a turn onto East State Street and following South Aurora Street back to campus.
Without access to the bridge, it was hard for Ithaca College students to navigate the city, freshman Ben Ransdell said. As a first year student, he was particularly inconvenienced by the detours while trying to move onto campus.
“Navigating Ithaca as an incoming freshman has been very difficult with the inconvenience of the detour,” Ransdell said.
