Four players netted goals for the women’s soccer team Saturday as the team won 5-0 at Alfred University to improve its record to 4-0 in conference and 8-2 overall.
Leading the Bombers in scoring for the second straight game was sophomore forward Rachael Palladino. Palladino followed up a two-goal performance at Misericordia University on Wednesday with another two goals against the Saxons.
Palladino’s first goal came in the 5th minute when she took a pass from graduate student Liz Masucci and shot it past Alfred goalkeeper Shanna Ewoldt to give the Blue and Gold a 1-0 lead.
Palladino scored again in 14th minute after taking a long pass from sophomore midfielder Julie Winn and dribbling past Ewoldt for the Bomber’s second goal.
Also scoring for the Blue and Gold were Winn in the 40th minute, sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Hoffay in the 72nd minute and junior midfielder/forward Megan Trager in the 77th minute.
Winn placed a free kick just inside the near post while freshman forward Jackie Rodabaugh and senior midfielder Kelley Hand assisted on Hoffay and Trager’s goals, respectively.
The team had its largest shot advantage of the season outshooting the Saxons 47-3.
With the two goals Palladino surpassed her goal total from last season and now has 13 this season.
