If you haven’t seen it yet, please take a few minutes to watch the Ladies of SNL — ranging from Ana Gasteyer and Tina Fey all the way to current cast member Kristin Wiig — as the ladies from the Real Housewives on Bravo. Whenever SNL showcases its strong female cast members, I can’t help but kvell a little inside. There is so much talent in that single video.
Not only have the ladies of SNL stayed consistently funny, but they always push boundaries of women in comedy. From Betty White’s NPR “muffin” skit to Kristin Wiig’s “Welcome to Target” scene (quite possibly my favorite of her’s), these ladies always prove that comedy comes in all shapes, sizes and genders. Though the overall quality of SNL has declined in the past few years and has been reduced to topical sketches and little originality, our power team of fierce women on the show will always be that beacon of light shining toward a future that…could get better.
That sounded really sappy, but hey, I love me some SNL Ladies.
