The We Live NY Summit 2011 will be held Thursday through Saturday at the Statler Hotel and Conference Center at Cornell University this year. The summit will showcase how young adults have found a business focus and are making progress in the state of New York.

Benjamin Sio, director of sustainable infrastructure and policy development at the CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity, said the summit gives students the opportunity to learn about what is going on in the state while having fun. He said he hopes young talented business individuals will remain in New York state.

Students will be able to interact with important groups from around the state organized into five programming tracks, Business and Entrepreneurship, Health and Wellness, Civic and Political Engagement, Cuisine and Culture, and Community and Regional Revitalization.

In addition to attending workshops, a competition will also be taking place. Students will pitch a one to two minute business proposition to a panel of judges that will be uploaded to YouTube. The video with the most likes will win a prize.

Students may register for free at the door by showing their student IDs but are encouraged to sign up online by midnight entering the following code, WLNYsummit2011, into the sponsor box.

The summit is also looking for volunteers who will be asked to assist for about four hours in exchange for free admittance.
