Beginning tomorrow, Bridge Street will be closed to all traffic, except for local residents, for gas line work through mid-November, according to a release issued by the Department of Public Works on Wednesday night.
Only residents of the street will be able to access Bridge Street, according to the release. There are no recommended detours, according to the release, and residents are advised that access to the street may at times be restricted. There will be additional gas work at the East State Street and Bridge Street intersection, which the release said could cause traffic delays along East State Street.
According to the release, NYSEG has contracted the work to DDS Utilities, Inc., a construction company based in central New York. The work is expected to be completed by the middle of November, the release said.
The Department of Public Works could not be immediately reached for comment Wednesday night, as it was outside of normal business hours.
