Men’s Cross-Country: Bombers finish fifth at state championships

The men’s cross-country team finished fifth out of 10 teams yesterday at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. The Bombers finished with 134 points for their fifth top five finish in six years.

Senior and team captain Dan Craighead had the Blue and Gold’s top individual finish at the meet, placing 14th out of 112 runners with a time of 26:42. Junior David Geary had the next best time, finishing in 26:57 for 18th place. Junior Mark Vorensky finished 27th in 27:17.

Rounding out the Bombers’ top seven, junior Nathan Bickell finished 41st in 27:41, senior Tyler Murray finished 49th in 27:53, freshman Dennis Ryan finished 55th in 28:05 and junior Chris Lotsbom finished 58th in 28:08.

The South Hill squad will compete at the Empire 8 Championships at 11 a.m. Saturday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
