Do you like drinking? Do you like good music? Are you of legal age? If you answered “yes” to all three of these infomercial-ish sounding prompts, you may want to hit up Drinkify. No longer will you sit by your fireplace listening to 12-inch records wondering what drink should be paired with the music to increase the ambiance.
Drinkify is relatively simple. Type in your favorite artist and the website spits out a drink that should be consumed whilst listening to said artist. Some of them I can see. Others, not so much. I’ve seen a couple bands Tweeting their drinks, so they must agree with the outcomes. Here are a few of my favorites:
Crystal Castles—4 oz. Absolut Vodka with a shrimp garnish. Ok. I can see this one. Of course you’re going to want to be drinking Russian vodka and pretending you’re in some crazy Scandinavian club while Alice Glass is assaulting your eardrums with her shrieking.
Manchester Orchestra—8 oz. Sloe gin with cocktail onion garnish. Not sure about the onion situation, but I could see these boys enjoying some gin. I’ll allow it.
The Antlers—4 oz. beer stirred vigorously. First, who drinks four ounces of beer. Second, yeah, you best stir that four ounces of beer vigorously.
White Lies—1 PBR. Nope. Sorry. I can’t imagine these gloomy guys from England drinking Pabst. We need something a bit classier and darker.
Adele—2 oz. vodka, 2 oz. coconut milk, 1 oz. honey and serve with cucumber garnish. Something tells me that after cancelling a tour due to needing throat surgery, Adele’s going to need a drink. And that honey should help.
Lou Reed—4 oz. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey. A classic drink for a classic icon.
2Pac—2 oz. orange juice, 2 oz. Maotai. Pour one out for the homies.
