The women’s basketball team (1–0) crushed host William Smith College (0–1) 93-60 to begin its season last night.
Sophomore guard Kathryn Campbell led the way for the Bombers, exploding for a career-high 25 points on 11-of-16 shooting. Campbell also led the Blue and Gold with eight rebounds.
Sophomore forward Jennifer Escobido also matched a career high with 17 points, and filled the stat sheet with four assists, four rebounds and two steals. Senior guard Jessica Farley added 11 points, while junior forward Devin Shea contributed eight points and six rebounds in the paint.
The Bombers’ 93-point total was the highest in a season-opening game in the 45-year history of the program. The Blue and Gold led by as many as 37 points on their way to posting its largest margin of victory ever over the Herons.
The Bombers continue their two-game road trip with a matchup against Medaille College at 4 p.m. Friday.
