Spring break. It finally came. No classes for a week, no tests, no papers. A full week of relaxation. Unfortunately waking up at 5 A.M. the first day of spring break is not what you’d think of as relaxing. But it was worth it because we were going on a safari in Kruger National Park.
I thought a safari would be like driving through a zoo; You see the animals, but overall it is just another tourist attraction. Kruger, however, was nothing like this.
It is 240 miles long, borders Swaziland, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, and is over twice as large as the state of Massachusetts. So much for thinking it was like a glorified zoo.
And seeing all of the animals in their natural environment is amazing. It definitely felt like i was on the set of the Lion King (which we did watch the night before we left for our safari).
