The baseball team completed its three-game series against Utica College with a 14-4 victory today in Utica, N.Y. The Bombers are now 18—4—1 overall and sit atop the Empire 8 Conference standings.
The South Hill Squad had a balanced offense in the game, as 10 different runners crossed the plate. Senior third baseman Teagen Barresi and sophomore second baseman Jeffrey Mathers had three hits each, while Barresi also drove in three runs.
Freshman pitcher Jimmy Wagner started for the Blue and Gold and threw six scoreless innings while giving up just two hits and one walk. Senior pitcher Ian Rebhan relieved Wagner in the seventh inning. The Pioneers rallied to score four runs on four hits during that inning, but senior pitcher Tucker Healy held the Pioneers to just one hit during the final two innings.
The Bombers will take a break from their conference schedule when they face University of Rochester on Tuesday on Freeman Field.
