The men’s tennis team (4—6 overall, 3—1 Empire 8) rebounded from a loss to Stevens Institute of Technology (6—10 overall, 1—3 Empire 8) with an 8-1 victory at St. John Fisher College yesterday at the Mendon Racquet Club in Mendon, N.Y.
Senior captain Jimmy Newton, sophomore David Andersen, sophomore Griffin Reid and freshman Justin Levine were winners in both singles and doubles. Senior Dan Levine and junior Kyle Riether also won as the Bombers swept all six singles matches.
Newton defeated Fisher senior John Whelehan 6-2 6-0 in first singles. Andersen defeated senior Chris Malay 6-1 6-0 and Levine defeated sophomore Cody Schmitt 6-4 7-5.
The Bombers host New York University at noon Saturday on South Hill. The match will be played on Wheeler Tennis Courts unless it rains, in which case the match will be moved to the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University.
