The men’s tennis team (5—8 overall, 4—2 Empire 8) lost a close 5-4 Empire 8 Conference dual match to Nazareth College (9—10 overall, 6—1 Empire 8) yesterday in Rochester, N.Y.
The Bombers picked up three of its four points in singles play. Sophomore Griffin Reid defeated Nazareth junior Bret Beaver 7-5 6-1 at second singles while sophomore Ryan Zuckerman picked up a 6-3 7-5 victory against sophomore Nick Lord at fifth singles and sophomore David Keltz earned a straight set victory against Golden Flyers freshman Zach Morley at sixth singles.
Senior Dan Levine and Freshman Derryk Williams picked up the Blue and Gold’s only doubles victory with a decisive 8-2 win at third doubles.
The South Hill squad ends its regular season today at 1 p.m. against Utica College in Utica, N.Y. The Bombers will host the Empire 8 Championships next weekend at the Wheeler Tennis Courts.
