Cornell University’s Police Department is investigating a reported attempted rape that occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Trolley Bridge.
The incident was reported to the Cornell Police at 12:07 p.m. Thursday. According to a report by the Cornell Police, a female victim reported she was walking across the Trolley Bridge, which connects Oak Avenue to the Engineering Quad, when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male. The man then attempted to drag her into a wooded area near the bridge, making statements about how he was going to rape her.
The attacker is described as a 6-foot-tall white male with a thin build, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. According to the report, the attacker has dark hair and is in his late 30s. He was wearing a dark suit jacket and light-colored pants. The attacker fled in an unknown direction.
