The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a reported physical and sexual assault off campus.
According to David Maley, associate director of media relations, a female Ithaca College student who lives off campus reported to IPD on Oct. 2 that she was assaulted by a known person.
She contacted Public Safety to notify them that she sought an order of protection from the alleged attacker and provide information in case he showed up on campus.
The alleged assailant is not a student at the college.
