“The Hollywood Reporter” has released its annual list of the top 100 women in the entertainment industry. On the 21st edition of the list, released this morning, five of the top ten spots are held by women who work in television.
Topping the list for the third year in a row is Anne Sweeney. She currently serves as the president of Disney/ABC Television and as the co-chairman for Disney Media Networks. Previously, she was the CEO and Chairman of FX, where she oversaw the release of basic cable networks FX and FXM. FX is widely regarded as one of the most successful basic cable launches in history.
Representing A+E Networks are Abbe Raven and Nancy Dubuc, the president/CEO and president of entertainment media, respectively. No doubt this is related to the successful rebranding of Lifetime (both Raven and Dubuc played a large role) and the resulting uptick in ratings.
The top ten also features women from Lucasfilm, CBS Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The complete list can be found on “The Hollywood Reporter” website.
