The film adaptation of Ithaca College faculty member Eleanor Henderson’s novel will premiere Jan. 23 at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Henderson is an assistant professor who teaches courses in fiction writing. Her book received a glowing New York Times review in June 2011 and was the chosen work of the college’s first-year reading initiative the following year.
Henderson’s book was adapted for the big screen by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. The movie version of the coming-of-age story stars Ethan Hawke, Hailee Steinfeld, Asa Butterfield, Emile Hirsch and Emily Mortimer.
