Ithaca College junior Noa Ran-Ressler, journalism major with a minor in environmental studies, has been appointed managing editor of The Ithacan for the 2024–25 academic year.
Ran-Ressler was interviewed alongside junior Lorien Tyne by the Board of Publications on March 28. The interviews were open to the public and conducted in the Roy H. Park School of Communications. The board made the recommendation for her appointment to Amy Falkner, dean of the Roy H. Park School of Communications, who accepted and appointed Ran-Ressler to the position.
Ran-Ressler began working at The Ithacan in the Fall 2022 semester as a staff writer and was appointed as an assistant news editor in the Spring 2023 semester. Ran-Ressler founded the Investigative Team in June 2023 and was appointed as The Ithacan’s investigative editor for the 2023–24 academic year. She also served as a photo editor at The Ithacan from October 2022 to December 2023.
Ran-Ressler interned in Barcelona as a content creator for the Barcelona Expat Life in summer 2023 through the the Institute for American Universities. While at Expat Life, she wrote articles in English for people who do not speak English as their first language and wrote about social issues in the country.
