The lineups for Lollapalooza in both Chile and Argentina were announced recently, leaving us North Americans helplessly envious.
Some of the bands headlining both festivals are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden and Arcade Fire. That’s already incentive enough for me to buy my plane tickets now. Also playing at each festival are Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Julian Casablancas of The Strokes and Cage the Elephant.
I haven’t seen a lineup for a festival like this in a while. There are a lot more grungy, alternative bands featured rather than having the lineup being entirely made up of newer, indie rock bands. Those bands are still featured (Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Ellie Goulding, etc.), but there’s definitely more diversity with The Pixies and Nine Inch Nails thrown in.
Kid Cudi will even be performing, along with The Wailers and Wolfgang Gartner. There is something for everyone’s specific musical taste at the two-day festival on March 29 and 30 at Parque O’Higgins in Chile.
If the South America lineup for Lollapalooza is anywhere near what the lineup will be in Chicago from August 1-3, consider me there.
