The local office was part of a national group, MoveOn.org. Of the 35 cities with Call for Change campaign offices, the Ithaca location had the largest number of volunteers.
The MoveOn group set up an office in the DeWitt Mall in the weeks leading up the Nov. 7 midterm election.
MoveOn volunteers called people to encourage them to vote, which was particularly important in areas across the country that had close races.
MoveOn volunteers were responsible for calling people to vote and recruiting more volunteers to make phone calls.
The long-term goal of the campaign was to regain Democratic control in the Senate and House.
