David Muir ’95, an ABC News correspondent, will speak at Ithaca College April 4 as this year’s Jessica Savitch Distinguished Journalism Lecture speaker.
Muir, who has worked for ABC since 2003 and reports for “World News with Charles Gibson,” “Good Morning America” and “Nightline,” will give a talk titled “Witness to War and Disaster: From Hurricane Katrina to War in the Middle East, Giving Victims a Voice.”
The Jessica Savitch series was established to honor the memory of Savitch ’68, who was killed in an automobile accident in 1983. Savitch was an NBC News anchor and correspondent. The series, which began the year after Savitch’s death, brings a leading figure in broadcast journalism to the college every spring.
Muir’s lecture will begin 7:30 p.m. on April 4 in the Park Hall Auditorium and is open to the public.
