Ithaca College announced yesterday that the Board of Trustees approved a budget for the 2011-12 academic year that will set next year’s tuition and room and board at $48,132 compared to $45,944 this year.
The 4.76 percent rate of increase is the smallest rate of increase since the 2002-3 academic year.
President Tom Rochon sent a letter to parents announcing the tuition for the coming year and assured them the college did their best to keep the cost of education to a minimum, while still ensuring the quality of an education.
The letter also included a chart measuring the college tuition alongside a group of 20 private colleges and universities comparative to the college. The 2011-12 rate at the college will remain lower than the tuition of all but four of the schools listed.
