Playing their third Empire 8 Conference game of the season, the women’s soccer team defeated Hartwick College 4-1 yesterday to remain unbeaten during the regular season.
Sophomore forward Ellyn Grant-Keane recorded her third goal of the season off an assist by junior midfielder Caroline Jastremski to put the Blue and Gold up 1-0 in the 12th minute.
Junior midfielder Julie Winn orchestrated the next two goals. In the 22nd minute she set up sophomore midfielder Amanda Callanan off a corner kick to put the team up 2-0, and then scored one of her own in the 52nd minute to give the South Hill squad a three goal advantage.
The Hawks finally scored a goal of their own in the 65th minute to bring them within two. But Callanan would score her second goal of the game three minutes later to bring the lead back to three and solidify another Bombers win, improving the team’s record to 7—0—2.
The team will face Misericordia University at 4 p.m. Tuesday on Carp Wood Field.
