The men’s basketball team fell to Wells College (4—4) 73-72 in its last game of 2011 today in Aurora, N.Y.
Junior guard Sean Rossi lead the charge against the Express, dishing out a season-high 16 assists while scoring nine points. Senior guard Jordan Marcus drained 23 points and sophomore Frank Mitchell who sunk 15.
The Bombers were unable to capitalize off Wells’ misses from the foul line, as the Express made only 27 percent of their shots from the charity stripe, going three for 11.
The Blue and Gold also played opportunistically, scoring 25 points off turnovers to Wells’ 12 points off Ithaca turnovers.
The South Hill squad has an overall record of 3—8 heading into Empire 8 Conference play, which begins with a home game Jan. 6 against St. John Fisher College. The Bombers have the second worst record in the conference. Only winless Elmira College sits behind them.
