The women’s lacrosse team went 1—1 during its spring break trip to Clermont, Fla., handily defeating Springfield College on March 12 and falling to sixth-ranked Franklin and Marshall College on Wednesday.
The Bombers defeated Springfield 13—8, with the help of five goals from senior attack Nicole Borisenok. Junior attack Tracy Rivas added three goals of her own and four assists. A season high seven different Bombers found the back of the net in the victory.
Sophomore defender Jenna Marchinetti caused four turnovers and junior Jess Worthman had eight saves in goal.
The Blue and Gold trailed 10-5 after the first half when they took on the highest ranked opponent on their 2012 regular season schedule — Franklin and Marshall. The Bombers outscored the Diplomats in the second half, but the rally fell short and the final score ended up being 15-13 in favor of Franklin and Marshall.
Rivas led the South Hill squad in goals and ground balls, registering three apiece. Six different Bombers scored and junior midfielder Kaitlyn Hoffay added two assists. Worthman made eight saves in goal.
