The Ithaca College men’s soccer team fell to the Hobart Statesmen in a grueling 3-2 loss Oct. 8 at Carp Wood Field, adding a third game to the Bombers’ two game losing streak. The Bombers battled out a long 90 minutes with the Statesman battling much in the center of the field and not in front of either goal.Â

The Ithaca College volleyball team earned its fifth shutout of the season in a win against the Hartwick College Hawks on Oct. 7 in Ben Light Gymnasium, adding to a winning streak of eight games. Junior setter Wesley Slavin also recorded a milestone achievement of 2000 assists during the match.Â

Since his time on South Hill, Brian McCullough ’06, has entrenched himself in the intersection of sustainability and sports. Currently an associate professor and program chair of sport management at the University of Michigan, McCullough has worked with other experts in the field and organizations such as the International Olympic Committee.

The Ithaca College men’s soccer team is in the midst of a program revamp under new head coach Gabe Kuhn, who has brought success the team has not achieved in years. The key to the Bombers’ winning ways this season has been their defense. Led by senior goalkeeper Bryson Shaull, the Bombers’ back line conceded only one goal in their first seven games, collecting six clean sheets.

The Ithaca College men’s soccer team settled for a 1-1 draw against the Vassar College Brewers on Sept. 27 at Carp Wood Field. Although both of the game’s goals were scored in the first half, a second half filled with scoring chances on both sides of the field left the Bombers feeling they deserved a win over the reigning Liberty League Champions.

One Beat. The motto of the Ithaca College football team emphasizes togetherness and an almost brotherly connection. This season, the Bombers have relied on three new coaches who all have deep roots with the program. On March 24, the Bombers announced the hiring of assistant coaches Ben Mason, Will Margraff, and Will Gladney ’20. Mason was brought in to coach both running backs and tight ends, while Gladney was brought in to coach wide receivers and Margraff to coach linebackers.

Last July, Ithaca College expanded its athletics program by introducing an NCAA varsity women’s wrestling team. With the 2025-26 inaugural season approaching, the team’s preparations are in full swing, including the hiring of head coach Ryan Ciotoli ’02 and the recruitment of the eight athletes.
