The sport of diving is characterized by living life on the edge. Making the right decisions in the right moment can make or break a routine. On the edge of the platform, multiple thoughts run through a diver’s head, questions of whether it is possible to achieve the goal at hand or are they good enough to complete the routine. When they hit the water, it is all in the past.
Self-help and wellness app Sanvello, which was previously utilized by students and employees of Ithaca College, is no longer available after its parent company, UnitedHealth, merged with a telehealth service called Self Care by AbleTo. The app has been replaced by Wysa, another cost-free self-help app for the campus community that features an AI chatbot.

IC replaces mental health app after previous provider sunsets operations

As of Fall 2024, self-help and wellness app Sanvello, which was previously utilized by students and employees of Ithaca College, is no longer available. The app has been replaced by Wysa, another cost-free self-help app for the campus community that features an AI chatbot.

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met Feb. 5 to hear from Brian Peterson, director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and Caryanne Keenan, director of New Student and Transition Programs (NSTP). The council also held confirmation for the committee that oversees student elections, the Class of 2026 Senator and the First-Generation Senator.

Faculty Council discusses mental health and academic processes

According to The Mayo Clinic Health System, 44% of college students struggle with symptoms of depression and anxiety, and within that 44%, 75% are reluctant to seek help.
Since becoming a JED Campus, the college has enacted multiple initiatives, like partnering with the mindfulness app Sanvello and implementing two Stop and Breathe Weeks, a week-long initiative that promotes de-stress during finals weeks on campus.
