An Ithaca College student was struck by a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Blake A. Curtis, a Cornell University police officer, around 1:30 a.m. May 4. The student was identified as 19-year-old Max Ross who is in stable condition at Robert Packer Hospital, according to a New York State Police press release.

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council released the elected candidates who will serve on the executive board and senate for the 2024–25 academic year on May 3 in an Intercom post. Candidates ran for 13 positions out of 32 open positions across the e-board and senate, which all have year long terms.

Despite the rain, it was a phenomenal day at Higgins Stadium as the Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team successfully completed its revenge tour and won its first Liberty League Championship against No. 7 William Smith in an 11–10 overtime win.
Ithaca College has a rich history of expression, and its free speech policy has changed over time as issues arise within and beyond campus. The college’s free speech policy, written in Section 2.31 in the policy manual, highlights how the college responds to free expression while maintaining public order.

David Bayne, assistant professor in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, teaches and supervises students at Ithaca College who are getting their master’s in speech-language pathology. His students work with clients for 50 minutes a week in the no-charge Sir Alexander Ewing-Ithaca College Speech and Hearing Clinic, which was established in 2011 and is the only place in Ithaca to offer in-person gender-affirming voice care.

The Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team played in the Liberty League Semifinals against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on May 3 and are moving to the finals after handily defeating the Engineers 14–7.
