NYFW…continued…

Two days left of New York Fashion Week, and the fashion’s as quirky as ever. Case in point: Marc by Marc Jacobs!

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Remember what I said earlier about the trends for spring? Textures, excellent construction, prints, bright colors, QUIRKINESS?!? They were all in their full-fledged glory at the Marc by Marc Jacobs show – especially the quirky element, as can be evidenced by uber-cool visor, ironically self-promoting personalized t-shirt, and wedge sneakers…

A sleeker look was shown at Victoria Beckham, who is, time and again, proving that she is more than just Posh Spice and wife of David. Her collection still had the punchiness of spring, but had a mature look to it that I loved – her color-blocking shift dress (below, on the left) was modern and fresh, while referencing a classic silhouette.

And can we please, please, pretty please talk about the insane amount of bright orange that’s been showing up on the runway? Again, referencing the two very different collections above, there are some major pops of Tangee orange. Six days of NYFW done, two more to go….
