Sweater Time

The weather is really starting to get chilly and crisp outside, so I’m dreaming of sweaters for fall. On the top of my wish list? A crew neck, chunky cable knit sweater in a creamy oatmeal tone – I’ve literally been visualizing it all day today (and apparently vocalizing about it, according to my roomies…) There’s just something so comfy and lovely about a chunky knit sweater – and believe it or not, sweaters like these are en vogue right now. Don’t believe me? Even Alexa Chung a.k.a. the chicest person in the whole entire world is rocking chunky sweaters and looking super haute (a little fashion humor – you’re probably grimacing right now….)

But wait, there’s more! Just when I thought my Alexa Chung/sweater obsession couldn’t get any greater/borderline creepy, I found this on Tumblr:

Sweater and full floral skirt? Sign me up!

Cozy fuzzy sweater on top, prom dress-esque skirt on the bottom? Excuse me while I freak out over the sartorial genius of this outfit. And actually, for Ithacans unwilling to give up style to accommodate the weather, this trend is the perfect compromise: warm on the top, party on the bottom (you’re probably grimacing at my humor again. I apologize.) But seriously though – sweaters being the latest trend for fall is not only cozy, but also extremely practical because we live in Ithaca, where the wind never ceases and the skies are always gray.
