Lack of system piles up food waste at IC’s cafes

On Sunday nights in the Ithaca College Library, student staff at Scribe Cafe put out a variety of prepackaged items that are either past their “best by” date or are about to meet it for students to take for free. The excess food ranges from a small table to multiple bins of food, depending on the week. 
Jeff Cohen, founding director of the PCIM, was inducted into the Izzy Hall of Fame by Mickey Huff, current director of the PCIM, for his continued work in independent media.

Izzy Fest brings independent media to students

The Park Center for Independent Media brought together independent journalists and media scholars from across the country to Ithaca College’s campus for the first Izzy Fest, a two-day event focused on independent media and press freedom.
Stephen Henhawk, Language and Culture Lead at GLP, discussed the historical and present-day livelihoods of the Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ community and the importance of centering Indigenous voices in conversations about sustainability.

Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ Learning Project presents to SGC

Guest speakers from the Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ Learning Project presented to the Ithaca College Student Governance Council during their meeting April 20. Ithaca College and Tompkins Cortland Community College announced a new dual admission agreement April 10 that will allow students to enroll at TC3 for an associate’s degree, and then transfer to IC for two years to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Ithaca College and Tompkins Cortland Community College announced a new dual admission agreement April 10. The agreement establishes a clear pathway for students to enroll at TC3 for an associate’s degree, and then transfer to IC for two years to complete a bachelor’s degree.

SGC discusses Ithaca College sustainability achievements

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met April 13 to hear updates on the college’s sustainability initiatives and achievements from Scott Doyle ’98, the director of energy management and sustainability. The council also passed a bill to help create a new Residential Learning Committee.
