As the Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland football teams geared up for the 66th annual Cortaca Jug, the schools’ sustainability offices joined forces for the first time to add a new, environmental twist to the biggest little game in the nation.
The Ithaca College men’s basketball team hired its new head coach Mike McSloy on June 17, replacing Waleed Farid. McSloy is inheriting a program which just won its second-ever Liberty League Championship Tournament in February, their first being in February 2020.

The Ithaca College volleyball team will hang up a Liberty League championship banner in Ben Light Gymnasium for the fourth consecutive year and the Bombers are “striving for more” as they begin the journey to an NCAA Division III National Championship. They have been dominant for years, yet the Bombers agree it feels like this is their year to advance further into the NCAA tournament. The Bombers have a 0.867 winning percentage, the highest since 1995.
With a buzzing crowd and an environment sprinkled with showers, the Ithaca College football team avenged the last two seasons and took down its arch rival, the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons, by a score of 26-21 in one of the most thrilling Cortaca games of all time.
History was made on the mat Nov. 12, as the Ithaca College women’s wrestling team hosted its first-ever home event in the Glazer Arena, showcasing the young program’s potential.

In the Ithaca College men’s track and field team’s first season under new head coach Stargell Williams, the team failed to sniff the top three at the 2024-25 Liberty League Indoor Championship Tournament, finishing fifth out of seven schools. In 2025-26, the young, rounded team looks to break into a “medal” finish.
