Bridge construction begins today

The South Aurora Street bridge closed today because of construction. It will remain closed for approximately four months.

The Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) will make an extra stop downtown to accommodate the bridge closing.

Routes 11, 12, 60 and 65 will stop at Cayuga and State streets instead of the usual stop at Aurora Street. The Hudson and Columbia stop has been moved to Hillview and Columbia.

The “Fostering an Alliance between SGC and New Student & Transition Programs (NSTP) to Assist First-Year and Transfer Students bill outlines the importance of the council being directly involved with orientation planning, including understanding how orientation impacts first-year and transfer students who identify as first-gen or BIPOC, students who have a disability or are a part of a social group that is underrepresented at the college.

The college worked with Rankin Climate, a company that assesses institutional climate and specifically works with the college’s working committee, to compile the results of the survey.  The survey was made up of 117 questions, 16 of which were open-ended. Questions from the 2016 Campus Climate Survey were used as a basis and reviewed again by the college.
