Ithaca College names Sean Reid as dean of School of Business

Ithaca College has announced that Sean Reid, current associate dean and associate professor of finance at the Quinnipiac University School of Business, will assume the role of dean of the college’s School of Business beginning July 1.

Reid began working at Quinnipiac in 2007, and in 2012 he became the associate dean of its business school, where he served as executive director of Quinnipiac’s Financial Technology Center, director of Freshman Business Programs and headed the Graduate Programs Division.

Reid is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and has been an officer on active duty and in the reserves. As a captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Reid previously held several management and advisory roles in the Office of Naval Research and worked with the Naval War College and the Navy Center for Personal and Professional Development. During active duty, Reid served as a naval flight officer, an aircraft mission commander and was a flight instructor, taking part in several overseas deployments, including Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.

Reid succeeds Mary Ellen Zuckerman, who accepted a position as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the State University of New York College at Brockport in 2014, and will be taking over from James Simpson, who has served as interim dean for the past year.
